Graffiti Hall of Fame

It’s not in the guidebooks, but one of my favorite places to take visitors when they’re in town is the Graffiti Hall of Fame. It’s actually the playground of a Public School, decorated every other year or so by the best graffiti artists in town. Since the playground was renovated a couple of years ago, it’s gotten a little more difficult to visit, as the gates are now routinely locked when school is not in session. But you can still easily see this magnificent paean to Harlem culture on the outer wall.
